Education Nights

These nights are for guest speakers and/or open discussion on photography. These are the evenings that members bring prints or projected images to discuss style, technique or get feedback on improving their images.

Field Trips and Photo Shoots

Members of the HCC have found these activities to be very helpful to their photography. These trips are used as a tool to expand technique and vision as members help fellow members with their photography problems and questions. Some locations will have an admission fee.

Projected Image Competitions

Projected Image competitions involve three or more separate meetings with different outside judge(s) each time evaluating and scoring your images. The subject matter is open. All paid members may enter a maximum of three projected images per meeting. All slides are judged on a scale of 3-18, 18 being the highest. These scores are accumulated through the season. Awards are presented to the top finishers at the annual banquet.

Projected Image and Print of the Year

Any three (3) projected images entered into competition during the current year are eligible for entry into the Projected Image of the Year. This is a single winner selected by an outside judge or judges in April. An award is presented to the top finisher at the annual banquet.

Print of the Year follows the same concept: any paid member may enter three prints from the current year's competitions into consideration as Print of the Year. An award is presented to the top finisher at the annual banquet.
